What ChequeKo does, what it does not do, and where your responsibility begins.
Draft — pending legal review. This document describes how ChequeKo is built and operated, but it has not yet been reviewed by counsel. It must be reviewed against Philippine data privacy and consumer law before public launch. Measures marked Planned are not live yet.
ChequeKo is a formatting and printing tool. Users remain responsible for verifying cheque details, maintaining sufficient funds, protecting physical cheque leaves, manually signing the cheque, and following the requirements of their issuing bank.
Not a bank, and not affiliated with one
Not affiliated with or endorsed by any Philippine bank. Bank names appear in ChequeKo only to help you identify which cheque template matches the leaf in your hand. Bank logos, seals, and security artwork are not reproduced.
ChequeKo does not issue cheques
ChequeKo prints onto a cheque leaf issued to you by your bank and already in your possession. It does not create cheques, generate blank cheque documents, or produce anything that functions as a cheque on its own. A printed ChequeKo output on ordinary paper is not a cheque.
No money moves
ChequeKo does not process payments, transfer funds, connect to online banking, or check balances. Whether a cheque is honoured depends entirely on your bank and your account, not on this software.
Alignment is not guaranteed
ChequeKo controls the geometry it sends to your browser. Your browser's print dialog, your printer driver, and your printer's mechanical feed can all add margins, rescale the page, or skew the sheet — and we cannot override them. We provide calibration tools and a printed 100 mm measuring bar so these effects are detectable and correctable, but no alignment guarantee is made for any particular printer.
Always test on ordinary paper before printing on an original cheque leaf.
Verification is yours
The amount in words is generated automatically, and ChequeKo warns you when it disagrees with the figures. That warning is an aid, not a guarantee. Check the date, payee, amount in figures, and amount in words on the physical cheque before you sign it.
Signing is yours
ChequeKo never prints a signature and never stores one. An unsigned printed cheque is not a valid instruction to your bank. Sign each cheque by hand.
Bank rules prevail
Cheque formats, accepted date formats, wording conventions, and acceptance rules are set by your issuing bank and by Philippine law, and they can change. Where ChequeKo's defaults differ from your bank's requirements, follow your bank.
